Old Time Threshing Day at Sheppard Family Park Saturday August 28,2010

Take a step back in time to the days when farmers cut their grain with a binder and placed the bundles in stooks in the field. Sheppard Family Park volunteers will be pulling out the binder to cut the oats in mid August. The grain will be placed in stooks and let to cure prior to being threshed on August 28, 2010.
Come and enjoy the day beginning with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. Local musicians will play and threshing will begin before noon. A petting zoo and minature ponies will be on hand as well as there will be children's games throughout the day.
Threshing at 11:00 am and 1:30pm
Admission $2.00, breakfast 8-10am($TBA) and lunch 12-1:30 ($TBA).
" Bulls, Brands and B.S. - History and Humor from Alberta's Livestock Brand Inspectors". A book Launch by Joyce Pallister-Bronsch at 2:30 pm with entertainment by "Minnie Pearl' aka Joyce Pallister Bronsch,Robbie Robertson, Mary Ellen Goslin and Lonnie Saunders.
Come to our 1st Annual Threshing Event Family Barn Dance from 7 - 11p.m. with Barb Haney and Randy Jones and their western friends. Admission by donation.
Join us for a great day and take a ride on the Pioneer Express!
Proceeds from the event go towards the maintenance of Sheppard Family Park.
